What is Codex Design?+
Codex Design is an independent UI design plugin for Codex. Create website and app mockups, compare images and live HTML side by side on a local canvas, and refine your designs through visual edits and conversation.
Do I need a separate API key?+
No. The plugin works with your existing Codex setup. There is no separate plugin token wallet or API key. Codex access, plan limits, and any applicable usage charges still apply.
What can I put on the canvas?+
Images and live HTML pages. Explore interface directions side by side, arrange your work, and refine the HTML with Codex.
Where does my work live?+
Your canvas projects and assets are stored locally on your computer. This does not change how Codex processes the context you share with it.
What do I need to get started?+
Codex with plugin support, the Codex CLI, and Node.js 22.12 or later. The default package targets macOS and Linux. Native Windows support has not yet been verified. Follow the Codex Design installation guide to get started.
