SVG to PNG converter.

Turn SVG files or pasted SVG code into PNG images at 1x, 2x, 4x, or any width you need, with a transparent or colored background. Each image is drawn from the vector at its final size, so it stays sharp. It runs in your browser, so your files are never uploaded.

Convert PNG to SVG instead

How to convert SVG to PNG

  1. Choose your SVG files, or drop them on the box above. You can add several at once, or paste SVG code instead.
  2. Pick the size: 1x, 2x, or 4x the SVG’s own size, or a custom width in pixels. It starts at 2x, which looks sharp on most screens.
  3. Choose the background: transparent, or a solid color.
  4. Convert, then download each PNG, or all of them in one ZIP file.

A few things to know:

  • Sharp at any size. The tool draws the vector at the output size instead of enlarging a small bitmap, so a 4x PNG is as crisp as a 1x one.
  • Size and name. The size comes from the SVG’s width and height, or its viewBox. Files keep their name, with the scale added: logo.svg at 2x becomes logo@2x.png.
  • Fonts and linked images. Browsers don’t load outside files when they draw an SVG as an image, so text set in a web font may fall back to another font, and linked images are left out. Convert text to outlines in your design tool first if the lettering must match.

When you need a PNG instead of an SVG

SVG is the best format for icons and logos on a website, but many places only accept bitmaps: app icons, social preview images, email, slide decks, some CMS fields, and many chat and design tools. Keep the SVG as the source and export PNGs from it whenever you need them, at the size each place asks for.

If Codex made the SVG for you, put the PNGs in your project and tell it where they go:

Use the PNG versions
Use the PNG files in [public/brand] where SVG isn't supported: [the social preview image, the email header, and the README]. Keep the SVG everywhere else on the site, and give every <img> a width and height so the layout doesn't shift.

Frequently asked questions

Is the SVG to PNG converter free?

Yes. There is no sign-up, no watermark, and no daily limit.

Are my files uploaded?

No. Your browser reads each SVG, draws it, and saves the PNG on your device. The site only counts that the tool was used, never what you put in.

Why does the text in my PNG look different?

The SVG probably uses a web font. When a browser draws an SVG as an image, it doesn’t load outside files, so it uses a fallback font. Convert the text to outlines in your design tool, or embed the font in the SVG, and convert again.

How do I get a PNG with a transparent background?

Keep the background set to Transparent, which is the default. Any area the SVG doesn’t paint stays transparent in the PNG.
