GPT Image 2.6 prompts for UI design.

42 copy-and-paste prompts for designing interfaces with GPT Image 2.6 (ChatGPT Images 2.6) in ChatGPT, Codex, or the API. They follow OpenAI’s guidance for interface previews: describe the product as if it already exists, focus on layout and hierarchy, and quote every piece of exact text.

How to use these prompts

  • In ChatGPT or Codex: paste a prompt and replace the details in brackets. In Codex, add $imagegen to call the image generation skill.
  • In the API: use gpt-image-2.6-flare to explore quickly and gpt-image-2.6-sunburst for final images and precise edits. For SVG icons set output_format="svg"; for animations set output_format="gif".
  • Quote exact text. GPT Image 2.6 renders quoted text more reliably. Check small text before you use an image.

Edits with references and markup

Restyle from reference
Image 1 is our current app screen. Image 2 is a style reference. Restyle image 1 using the colors, typography, and corner radius of image 2. Keep the layout, content, and text of image 1 exactly the same.
Markup: change one button
Change only the circled button: make it the primary style with a solid dark green background and white label "Continue". Keep everything else in the screen exactly the same.
Markup: replace a section
Replace only the circled area with a testimonial card: a customer photo, the quote "We shipped our redesign in a week", the name "Priya N." and title "Head of Product". Match the existing styles. Keep everything else unchanged.

From image to real UI

Images are great for exploring. When you like a direction, rebuild it as code so you can click, resize, and ship it:

Image to HTML
Rebuild the attached mockup image as one self-contained HTML file at [390×844], with inline CSS and system fonts. Match the layout, spacing, colors, and text exactly. Draw icons with inline SVG.

On a Codex Design canvas, the generated image and its HTML version sit side by side, so you can check the match and refine it visually.
