Landing page brief prompt for Codex
A brief prompt that gives Codex your product, audience, goal and proof, then asks for the page’s sections in order before any design starts.
We're designing a landing page for [Tally, an invoicing app for freelancers]. Visitors are [designers, writers, and developers who send 2–10 invoices a month]. The one action we want: [start a free trial]. The main promise: [get paid faster without chasing clients]. Proof we can show: [12,400 users, payments arrive 9 days sooner on average]. Before designing anything, list the sections this page needs, in order, with one sentence on what each section must convince the visitor of.

About this prompt
This prompt doesn’t produce a design. Codex answers with a section outline: every section of the page in order, each with one sentence on what it has to convince the visitor of. That outline is the cheapest place to catch a missing objection or a section with no job, long before there is any HTML to rewrite.
Replace all five bracketed details: the product and what it is, who visits, the single action you want, the main promise, and the proof you can actually show. Keep the action to one thing. If you write “start a trial, book a demo or join the newsletter”, the outline loses its focus and so will the page. Use numbers you are allowed to publish as proof, because Codex will reuse them in the hero and the social proof section later.
Leave the brief at the top of the conversation and respond to the outline before moving on: cut sections, reorder them, or add the one it missed. The hero directions and the full page that follow both build on the outline you approve, so a one-line correction here saves rework in every later step.
