Mobile app brief and screen list prompt for Codex
Describe your app’s users, core loop and platform, and have Codex list every screen of version one, grouped, with each screen’s purpose.
We're designing [Pagely, a reading-habit app]. Users are [adults who want to read 10–30 minutes a day but keep forgetting]. The core loop: [set a daily goal, read with a timer, keep a streak]. Platform: [iOS first]. List every screen the first version needs, grouped into onboarding, core loop, and settings. For each screen, give its purpose in one sentence and the three most important things on it.

About this prompt
Codex returns a screen inventory for the first version of the app, grouped into onboarding, core loop and settings. Each screen gets a one-sentence purpose and the three most important things on it, which adds up to a lightweight spec you can check before anything is drawn.
Replace the four brackets: the app and what it does, who uses it and the problem they have, the core loop as a short sequence of actions, and the platform you are starting with. The core loop matters most. Written as three verbs, such as set a goal, read, keep the streak, it tells Codex which screens are central and which only support them.
Trim the list before designing anything; first versions tend to come back with more screens than you need. Keep the “three most important things” for each screen to hand, because the home screen prompt later asks you to name the single most important element, and this list is where you will find it.
